Under-14s minor premier Horsham Saints thumped Stawell twice during the home and away season, but just three points separated the teams when they met in a semi-final two weeks ago.
The Saints will undoubtedly start as favourites and coach John Martin said his side was well-prepared to face the Warriors.
“Both teams are fairly strong and I think it will be fairly close,” he said.
“We hope it’s a good, honest contest.
“I think you will see two good teams put on a great display of footy to start off what should be a great day.”
Saints on-baller Angus Gove has had a stellar year, polling 40 votes to run away with the league best and fairest. Jack Butler has kicked 60 goals and Mitch Martin 50.
Martin said his side was strong across the board and had some real leaders.
“We’ve got a great bunch of top-age players who bring the whole group together,” he said.
“We don’t rely on two or three players, we’ve got strengths all over the ground and players who just run and run.
“Our leaders really bring our younger players into the game.”
But the Stawell side is also full of young talent.
Midfielder Josh Kelly polled well in the league best and fairest, while Caleb Bretherton has kicked 48 goals.
Warriors coach Brett Graveson said his side had grown in 2014.
“Halfway through the season we were flogged by Horsham Saints and Ararat by 10 goals,” he said.
“It has been a pretty big turnaround in the second half of the year – there have been a lot of big improvers.”
Graveson said pressure would be the key for the Warriors.
“Horsham Saints have been undefeated all year, but the grand final is a totally different game,” he said.
