As if a horror 24-hour trip from Cape Town on Sunday was not punishment enough for letting slip their best chance yet to break a 22-year-old drought at Newlands Stadium, the Wallabies have been forced to schlep around the stylish Argentinian capital in hotel-issue slippers and dress shoes after their baggage did not make it to Buenos Aires with them on Sunday night.

The experienced travellers were able to reach for a spare set of clothes in their carry-on but others had only their suits and training kits - not so fresh after three consecutive flights - to choose from.

Centre Tevita Kuridrani was well-prepared with casual clothes, while prop Sekope Kepu was sighted looking sheepish in training shorts and t-shirt and his dress shoes - without socks.

"It's not ideal that our luggage isn't here but that's life, you have to get through it and it's just part of the obstacle to get to the end goal, which is putting on a good performance this weekend," Kepu said.

The Wallabies are in Buenos Aires for two full days before flying west to Mendoza on Wednesday morning. They spent Monday in recovery and underwent further medical checks after spending all of Sunday in the air.

The side left Cape Town at 6am after their 28-10 loss to the Springboks on Saturday night and flew to Johannesburg for a connecting 10-hour flight to Sao Paulo, Brazil, and a final three-hour leg to Buenos Aires.

Matt Toomua and Rob Simmons are still being monitored for concussion, with coach Ewen McKenzie expected to give them as much time as possible to recover before making a call on selection.

Will Skelton and Jake Schatz, reinforcements for Simmons and Ben McCalman, were expected to arrive in Argentina late on Monday night, local time.

Kepu said the travel was tough after a Test as brutal as Saturday's, but the team was looking forward to an opportunity to put things right against the Pumas this weekend.

"When you're under the spotlight, on the big stage, the price is bigger," he said.

"But by no means would you want to give up the opportunity to be here and represent your country ... it's something we love to do and thrive on.

"For me it's an emotional roller coaster, you build yourself up towards the end of the week and you either win or lose and, regardless, you have to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and look forward to the next challenge.

"It's another Test match opportunity to represent Australia and bounce back."
