Council and the Laharum community are preparing a precinct plan for the redevelopment of the Laharum Hall, Cameron Oval, Laharum Primary School and Laharum Pre-school.
Community services director Angela Murphy said Laharum residents and community members were invited to get involved in the plan.
“This plan will provide an overview of what is required by the community,” she said.
“The plan will then be used by the community to seek funding to develop the precinct in the future.”
Ms Murphy said council wanted the community to provide feedback for the plan.
“The key questions for the community to consider include what type of activities they would like to take part in at the oval and hall, if there are any existing gaps in provisions at Laharum and if works need to occur at the hall and oval to meet the needs of the community,” she said.
Ms Murphy said other questions for consideration were about how the community could raise money for the redevelopment and if there were any priorities for works at the hall, oval, school and kindergarten.
“The precinct plan will help council and the Laharum community identify suitable developments and an achievable implementation process,” she said.
Ms Murphy said council would engage Bendigo-based companies, communityvibe and Plans for People, to work alongside the project steering committee and identify community needs in Laharum.
She said people could go to hrcc.vic.gov.au and click on ‘have your say’ to participate in the survey.
The survey ends on November 7.
