The show opened at Horsham Centre Cinemas on Friday night.
Director Debbie Boutcher said the production had got off to a good start.
“It’s been absolutely wonderful, people have been raving about it,” she said.
She said people enjoyed the show’s humour.
“Horsham loves comedy, it’s good to have a laugh, and there is a lot of comedy in the show,’’ she said.
Pam Deckert, who plays lead character Puss, said the cast was enjoying the experience.
“The cast is just having an absolute ball,” she said. “We’re on a roll and I think it will build and build.”
She agreed the community’s feedback had been positive.
“People are stopping us in the street, telling us how good it is and how funny it is,” she said.
Mrs Deckert said people were particularly enjoying the song I Feel Good, performed by her husband and co-star Mark Deckert.
The scene also includes two guards, played by Nick Wilson and Luke Mitton.
“That always gets a barrel of laughs,” Mrs Deckert said.
Ms Boutcher congratulated the cast and crew on a fabulous job.
“We have a lot of great talent on stage,” she said.
She said What’s New Pussycat? would be performed on Thursday at 8pm, Friday at 8pm and Saturday at 2pm and 8pm.
