Sponsors and supporters joined the school for the launch.
Team co-ordinator Chris Surridge said the sponsors received certificates of thanks. He said the students were also presented with their team shirts and caps.
"It's a bit special to get your uniform in front of the school and parent body," he said.
The vehicles' launch followed a Jaws theme.
Mr Surridge said blue tarps acted as water, as the human-powered vehicles, with shark fins on top, drove past.
Dramatic music played as the curtains opened and a cover came off to reveal the energy-efficient vehicle, decked out with the sponsors' logos.
Mr Surridge said the school had received plenty of support for the RACV Energy Breakthrough Challenge, on November 20 to 23.
He said three teams would compete at the annual event.
Students will have a taste of night driving at a session this week, to prepare for the 14-hour and 24-hour challenges.
