It will be the seven-year-old gelding's second start in the sunshine state after he finished third in the Group 2 Gold Coast Cup over 2138 metres at the weekend.
Owner and breeder Terry Lewis said he was pleased with his charge's cup run.
"He ran a track record and he was still fighting on at the end," he said.
"He hit the line as good as any other horse."
Lewis said the longer distance of the Queensland Pacing Championship would suit Abettorpunt.
The $200,000 feature is run over 2680 metres.
Abettorpunt has drawn barrier 11 and will be driven by John Caldow.
"The barrier draw wasn't kind and we'll be starting from the second row, but he's a strong horse," Lewis said.
"He'll follow out For A Reason, which should go forward, so we're really just hoping for some more mid-race pressure."
Lewis said Gold Coast Cup winner Avonnova would be hard to beat.
"He's Queensland's champion horse and will start favourite," he said.
Lewis said Abettorpunt had settled well after some early challenges.
"His flight was delayed 24 hours because of storms, which wasn't ideal," he said.
"It took him a little while to acclimatise as he's stabled at the track, which is in the middle of Brisbane, and is very different from being out in the open at Hamilton.
"He went off his feed for a little bit, but he's fine now."
Abettorpunt is trained by Lewis's brother David at Hamilton.
Lewis said the pair would wait for the outcome of tomorrow night's race before deciding whether to take the son of Bettors Delight to New Zealand.
The brothers are targeting the New Zealand Cup at Addington on November 11.
"We will see how he goes, but we're very keen to be part of it," Lewis said. "It's a big thrill to have a horse good enough to compete at this level."
The Lewises are in for a big few days, with Smileaway Jo racing at Tabcorp Park, Melton, tonight, Amajorjo at Kilmore on Sunday and Abitgoingonhere at Horsham on Monday.
The Queensland Pacing Championship is the seventh race on a 10-race card and will be run at 8.10pm.
