The intricate mural is a mosaic converted from a photograph by Wimmera artist Lynton Brown.
Training manager Mandy Kirsopp said the participants had benefited greatly from the program.
“Through the process of creating art, the Ready For Work students have not only created a timeless object of art for our urban environment, they have also developed a range of vocational skills that contribute to their formal study program,” she said.
During the process the students learnt different art processes, problem-solving skills and how to work in a team.
The group said it enjoyed creating the mosaic, something the members had never done before.
Participant Rebecca Roy said making the mural was a big task.
“It was pretty challenging with a small group of people,” she said.
Participant Zach Featherstone said he enjoyed being a part of the program.
“It was good meeting new people and it’s getting us ready for work,” he said.
The program benefits Wimmera youth from 16-18 who are disengaged from education.
Tyler Ashman-Reed, Jake Finlay, Michael Duffin-Wilde, Tremayne Taylor, Rebecca Roy and Zach Featherstone created the mural as part of the Ready For Work Program.
