Dimboola will host its Movember launch on Sunday at the Dimboola rowing sheds.
The late Michael ‘Spotty’ Warner organised Dimboola’s first Movember event after being diagnosed with cancer in 2010.
Team captain Colin Campbell said the launch was an opportunity for people to register for the challenge.
He said participants would have their upper lips shaved clean to start the month of mo growing.
“We are hoping to get as many people there as possible,” he said.
“Everyone’s got some connection to mental health or men’s health,” he said.
Mr Campbell said there would be a barbecue and giveaways on the day.
He said in previous years people had grown several different styles of moustaches, including handlebar and monkey tail-style facial hair.
Mr Campbell said there would be prizes at the end of the month for the best and worst moustaches.
This is the fourth year Dimboola has taken part in Movember.
More than four million ‘Mo Bros’ and ‘Mo Sistas’ have raised $580 million for men’s health since 2003.
The initiative has grown from 30 men in Melbourne to international participation from New Zealand, the USA, Canada and parts of Asia, Africa and Europe.
