The Wimmera’s Movember Project was created by Stawell’s Kieran Ryan, a long-term advocate of the initiative.
Movember raises money for and awareness of depression as well as health conditions specific to men, such as prostate and testicular cancer.
‘‘Men in the country make up a large percentage of our business,’’ Mr Routley said.
‘‘It’s important to get the Movember message out there and stop the ‘she’ll be right’ attitude a lot of people have in the country.’’
Mr Routley said it was the first time he had participated in Movember.
‘‘Matt’s done it before. We were looking at doing something and when Kieran asked us to get involved, we decided to jump on board with his project,’’ he said.
‘‘Movember is pretty big in Stawell and the rest of the Wimmera because Kieran’s driving it so hard. He’s very passionate about it.’’
The Wimmera’s Movember Project has so far raised more than $5000.
Mr Routley encouraged people to make a donation at Landmark’s Stawell and Kaniva branches.
He said there was also a donation box at the Horsham Regional Livestock Exchange canteen.
He said people could also donate online by visiting http://au.movember.com/ and searching Landmark Livestock.
