The Tri State Games is a week-long competition for special needs athletes from Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.
The Rockets came home with a swag of medals and positive experiences.
The squad won 18 gold medals, 12 silver, nine bronze and seven participation medals.
Rocket Jason Perkins was a joint winner of the Male Athlete of the Games – Category A – award.
Perkins won five gold medals and one silver.
He received his trophy from champion Port Adelaide footballer Chad Wingard.
The Power star presented several other awards and performed duties as a swimming marshall and table tennis umpire.
Seven athletes – Perkins, Jenny O’Loughlin, Tom Leembruggen, Marion Cameron, Maureen Cameron, Julie Clark and Michael Clark – represented the Rockets at the games.
The Wimmera was well represented, with teams from the Grampians, Warracknabeal, Stawell and Ararat competing at the event.
Horsham East Rotary Club will host the event next year and in 2016.
