Lawn had the upper hand in the sides’ first encounter in round two but the tables turned on Saturday, with the Kees cruising to a 10-sets-to-four victory.
The match looked to be a thriller early on, with each team taking two of the first four doubles sets and just one game separating them.
But Kalkee’s dominance came to the fore in the singles sets, where it won three of the four sets on offer and lost the fourth in a tie break.
It was similar going in the final six sets where Kalkee won five to close out the match in style.
Dave Richardson, Anna Lehmann and Carmen Petering were three-set winners for the Kees.
The team maintained top spot on the ladder and look primed for another grand final berth, and possibly their consecutive third pennant title.
Central Park jumped back into third spot with a win against Drung South Blue, eight sets to six.
The match started on even terms with the teams posting two doubles wins apiece.
But the Parkers – coming off a loss to Kalkee – stamped their authority in the singles sets, winning three of the four on offer and losing the other in a close one, 9-7.
The teams again traded blows in the remaining six doubles sets, taking three apiece to round out the day.
The Parkers men were strong, each winning three sets for the match.
In the final match of the round, St Michael’s crushed Drung South White 12 sets to two.
Dylan Emmerson was a shining light for White, winning his singles rubber against Ian Nitschke then teaming up with Lachie Middleton in the doubles for a win.
In A Special competition, Telangatuk East bounced back from its first loss of the season with an eight sets to six win against Natimuk.
Horsham Lawn accounted for St Michael’s, while Brimpaen beat Central Park.
There were upsets aplenty in A Grade, with Central Park beating Laharum and Haven posting a big win against Drung South.
Haven escaped with the narrowest of victories in B Special, with a 6-80 to 6-79 win against Homers.
Brimpaen and Noradjuha were the other winners, with wins against Laharum and Drung South respectively.
In B Grade, Haven Black took the points against Laharum, Haven Gold crushed Quantong and Natimuk beat Dadswells Bridge.
