St Arnaud Sergeant Steve Armati said five St Arnaud residents and a Stuart Mill man were arrested and interviewed at the St Arnaud Police Station.
He said a St Arnaud man, 58, was charged with possessing a prohibited weapon, possessing prohibited explosives and for possessing and using a drug of dependence.
Two St Arnaud women aged 41 and 53, a St Arnaud man, 67, and the Stuart Mill man, 22, were charged with possessing and using a drug of dependence.
All five were bailed to appear at the St Arnaud Magistrate's Court on January 8.
A St Arnaud woman, 48, was also arrested and released pending summons, for possessing and using a drug of dependence.
Sgt Armati said Ararat, Donald, Horsham and St Arnaud police, along with Horsham and Ararat criminal investigation units and the Victoria Police dog squad, were involved in the raids.
He said police had received a number of tip-offs from the public, which helped the investigation.
"We've been gathering intelligence for a while," he said.
"This is a great example of the community and police working together to tackle drugs in a rural environment.
"I would encourage people who have information about drug activity or anything else suspicious to contact local police."
