About 35 students from Horsham and St Brigid's colleges will spend three weeks abroad in 2016 as part of a G'Day USA exchange.
Horsham College teacher Emily Friedrichsen-Hay said it would be the fourth time the college had participated in the exchange.
"We leave in December after Christmas next year," she said.
The tour includes visits to Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco.
The students will stay with American host families.
"It's a brilliant opportunity for students and they learn a lot from staying with families," Mrs Friedrichsen-Hay said.
The students will fundraise in the lead-up to the trip.
Mrs Friedrichsen-Hay said Wimmera residents could attend a community Tupperware party on Saturday to raise money for the students.
"The party in the Horsham College hall is just in time for Christmas," she said.
"Tupperware representative Tracey Miller is donating her time and effort and we have lots of prizes to give away as well.
"When people are out voting on Saturday, they should stop by and have a look."
Mrs Friedrichsen-Hay said the fundraiser was a joint activity between the two schools.
"Both schools are going on G'day USA and rather than running two different fundraisers, we decided to work together," she said.
She said profits would be split between the colleges.
"We have roughly 35 students going and we try to raise an extra $320 for each student," she said.
"This is to cover extra activities that come up during the trip that some students can afford and others can't, so this stops anyone missing out."
Mrs Friedrichsen-Hay said the party was from 2pm to 7pm.
"People can come and go any time between then," she said.
