A motorcyclist has been killed in a crash involving a Country Fire Authority vehicle east of Melbourne.

The crash involving the marked CFA utility occurred near the intersection of Church and Jeeralang North roads in the Gippsland town of Hazelwood just before midday.
"We are supporting all those involved and our thoughts are with the motorcyclist," a CFA spokeswoman said.
The male motorcyclist died at the scene, but is yet to be formally identified.
"The exact cause of the collision is still being investigated and the male driver of the ute, who was not injured, is assisting police with their enquiries," police spokeswoman Belinda Batty said.
Investigations are continuing.
