The family-friendly event was at the city’s soundshell at Sawyer Park.
Organiser Simon Dandy said it was a wonderful show.
‘‘We had a massive crowd – it’s difficult to tell how many people but it was probably between 3000 and 5000
people,’’ he said.
‘‘We didn’t have any hiccups and even though it threatened to rain earlier in the day, the weather was perfect.’’
Mr Dandy said a highlight was guest performer Daniel Thornton.
‘‘Not many people would know Daniel but he impressed everyone,’’ he said.
‘‘He is a very accomplished musician.’’
Choirs, school groups and dance schools also performed.
‘‘The amount of talent we have in the region is insane,’’ Mr Dandy said.
‘‘We are blessed to have such a high standard of carols in Horsham – people come from out of town to the event and say it’s as good as anywhere else.
‘‘I couldn’t be happier with how it went and hopefully the audience thought the same.’’
Mr Dandy said the carols were a great way to kick off the Christmas season.
‘‘Singing carols can really ignite the Christmas spirit,’’ he said.
‘‘Everyone I spoke to said it did just that. If that was our goal, then we have achieved it.’’
Mr Dandy said the committee was already looking forward to next year.
‘‘We will let the dust settle then review what we’ve done this year and get back into it,’’ he said.
‘‘Hopefully we come up with something bigger and better next year.’’
