The former Kaniva-Leeor United and Casterton midfielder took over the coaching reigns for the Lakers this year.
Meyer expressed his desire to share the coaching role in the upcoming season, meaning Jeparit-Rainbow is now searching for another senior coach as it prepares for its first season in the Horsham District Football Netball League.
The club also announced former player Peter Weir would return to take up a position as assistant coach.
Weir last played for the Lakers in 2010, booting 63 goals in 18 games.
He has played the past four seasons for the Wimmera Football League's Warrack Eagles, notching tallies of 82, 33, 55 and 26 goals.
Jeparit-Rainbow has also recruited former player Simon Clugston, who returns to the club after a one-year stint with Dimboola in the Wimmera league.
Club president Brett Fisher said the three signings had set up the team well for 2015.
"We're rapt to have Chris back on board and now we're trying to get a bit more leadership around him to give him a bit more support off the field, so we're looking for another senior coach," he said.
"We've also been lucky enough to have Pete Weir sign back on and we reckon he has definitely developed his leadership capabilities in the years since he has left the club.
"We have kept our list from last year and we've been able to sign a couple more players.
"Moving to the Horsham District league has allowed us to target our local players down that way."
Fisher said the club was still considering proposals for new colours and a nickname.
The Lakers name is already taken by Taylors Lake, and the club needs to change its mostly red and blue colour scheme to avoid clashing with other district league clubs like Kalkee and Rupanyup.
Fisher said the club hoped to finalise its new colours and name early next year.
