Morgan Lane and Josh Dunn – who will be in grade six next year – are captains, and Jayde Ellis and Liam Robertson are vice-captains.
Principal Brendan Bush said the students were excited to take on their new roles.
‘‘They will be fantastic leaders and from what I’ve seen around the school, they have made a great contribution so far,’’ he said.
‘‘They will be excellent role models for the younger students.’’
The captains were announced earlier this week.
Mr Bush said students had to apply for the roles.
‘‘They were then shortlisted and interviewed by our assistant principal and members of the grade six teachers team,’’ he said.
The students will be responsible for running school assemblies.
‘‘They will have to speak in front of 580 students,’’ Mr Bush said.
‘‘They will also have a leadership role in our school socials and make speeches at end of the year ceremonies.
‘‘It will be a busy year ahead for them.’’
Josh Dunn is the grandson of former Horsham Rural City mayor and councillor Bernie Dunn.
