A seven-race meeting plus a jam-packed afternoon of entertainment will be on offer at Horsham Racecourse.
Gates will open at noon, with the first race due to start at 1.33pm.
The final race will run at 5.11pm.
Club manager Lisa Inkster said it promised to be a great day out.
‘‘The bookings are well and truly up which is fantastic,’’ she said.
‘‘We’re geared up for 2000 or more people, so it would be nice if we hit that mark.
‘‘The fields look fantastic – there seems to be a fairly solid line-up of local interest with horses and riders.’’
Wimmera trainers and jockeys in action will include Terry and Karina O’Sullivan, Paul Preusker, Dean Yendall and Holly McKechnie.
Mrs Inkster said there would be off-course entertainment for young and old.
A photo booth will run from 2pm to 4pm, and there will also be a merry-go-round, jumping castle and sand pit.
Foot races will run down the straight in four different categories – pre-school, prep plus grades one and two, grades three and four, and grades five and six.
Fashions on the field will also run in four categories – families, 13-17 years, eight to 12 years, and seven years and under.
Mrs Inkster said there were some great prizes for the fashions on the field and foot races.
Santa is set to make an appearance after the fifth race about 4.10pm. The first 200 children through the gate will receive complimentary showbags.
Mrs Inkster said pre-paid admission tickets were available online until Sunday morning. Great Day Out tickets are also still available.
General admission tickets will be available on the day.
Organsiers said people could visit www.countryracing.com.au/horsham for more information or to pre-purchase tickets.
