A woman has been charged with the murder of eight children who were found dead on Friday morning.
The 37-year-old mother of the seven youngest children and aunt of the oldest child was arrested by Saturday and formally on Sunday.
She appeared before a magistrate in a bedside hearing at the Cairns Base Hospital on Sunday morning.
Police had positively identified the children by Sunday.
The victims were four girls - aged 14, 12, 11, and two – and four boys – aged nine, eight, six and five.

Detectives are now investigating the role that drugs could have played in the deaths of eight children in Cairns on Friday.
The mother of seven of the eight children who were killed, Mersane Warria, 37, remains under police guard in Cairns Hospital and has been formally interviewed.
Detectives investigating the deaths are considering the possibility that she was on the drug ice at the time of the deaths.
"These are all things that will be presented to a court," Detective Inspector Bruno Asnicar said.
"As you can imagine, all of these things are extremely relevant and I understand that people are very interested in those facts."
In another development overnight, it emerged not all the children had been stabbed to death.
Detective Inspector Asnicar said post mortems will reveal the causes of death, which could include suffocation.
The post mortems are expected to be completed by Sunday afternoon with charges possibly laid shortly after the forensic investigation.
A grieving father wailing 'my babies, my babies' were among mourners who attended a memorial in Manoora this morning.
About 100 people attended the Manoora park, which is adjacent to the home where eight children were killed on Friday.
A man believed to be the father of the three youngest children was overwhelmed by grief and required assistance to walk.
The Salvation Army organised a memorial service in the community centre on Murray Street this morning where prayers and hymns were offered and sung.
