Horsham Aquatic Centre will host its annual Australia Day pool party on Monday.
The event is from 1pm to 4pm and will include a free barbecue and drinks.
YMCA Open Doors Foundation is supporting the event, which costs $6 for entry.
Northern Grampians Shire’s Youth Action Council will also host a pool party this year.
The party, at Stawell Leisure Complex, will be followed by council’s official Australia Day ceremony at Cato Park.
Chairwoman Lauren Dempsey said the pool party was on between 2pm and 5pm, with free entry.
She encouraged people to dress in Aussie-themed costumes.
‘‘We will have prizes for best dressed and plenty of games and activities,’’ she said.
‘‘Triple J’s Hottest 100 music will be playing throughout the afternoon, so it really will be the place to be on Australia Day.’’
The ceremony at Cato Park will feature live music and a fireworks display.
Miss Dempsey said the fireworks would be a highlight.
‘‘It has been quite a few years since we have had fireworks in Stawell, so we are really excited we have been able to make it happen for Australia Day,’’ she said.
‘‘We hope the Stawell community will come down and enjoy some live music, the presentation of Australia Day awards and a barbecue before the fireworks kick off.’’
Mayor Murray Emerson said council was delighted with the youth action council’s involvement in planning the event.
‘‘In the past we have had an official Australia Day ceremony late in the day, but the youth action council has come on board to add some extra activities that will make the occasion even more special,’’ he said.
Several Australia Day events in West Wimmera will include breakfast and flag-raising ceremonies.
At Apsley, residents can enjoy Super 8s cricket from 9am.
Edenhope and Harrow events will feature Associate Professor Debra Bateman as the Australia Day ambassador and guest speaker.
Hindmarsh Shire councillor Rob Gersch will speak at Nhill’s Australia Day celebrations, while fellow Nhill man John Millington will speak at Kaniva’s event.
Marj Keeble will speak at the Dergholm ceremony.
Minimay’s celebrations will include a buffet bacon and egg breakfast from 9am for a gold coin donation.
