Anna Bush, Darcy Edgerton, Tara Jasper, Nina Denham, Bella Adams and Laura Hutchins all competed, with some taking home gold medals.
It was the first major competition for Bush since she suffered a hip flexor injury near the end of last year, but she showed no ill effects.
Bush won the under-18 girls triple jump and 100-metre hurdles, placed second in long jump and was third in the 100 metres.
Horsham athletics coach Ricky Price said it was a good return for Bush, who jumped 11.40 metres to win the triple jump and 5.24 metres in the long jump.
He said the performance helped settle Bush’s nerves after a short injury layoff.
Another confidence-boosting performance came from Tara Jasper, who won the under-16 girls high jump and long jump, while finishing second in the 100 metres.
She also competed in the shot put and 90-metre hurdles.
Jasper will join Minyip’s Darcy Edgerton inMoe at the weekend for the Little Athletics state multi-event championships.
If they are successful the pair could represent Victoria at the national multi-event championships, like Bush and Edgerton’s older brother Andrew did in 2014.
Price said Jasper’s solid performance at the weekend would hold her in good stead for the multievent championships.
‘‘They are the first gold medals Tara has won at state level, which is really good,’’ he said.
‘‘It is definitely a confidence boost to her. She’s on track to do well at the weekend.’’
Edgerton had a successful weekend of his own, coming first in his favoured javelin event.
He raced in the boys under-16 100 and 200-metre races without placing.
Laura Hutchins won the under-20 hammer throw and blitzed the field in discus to win two gold medals.
A wrist injury prevented Bella Adams from making much of an impact in either the under-16 discus or shot put, but Price said she would be better for the experience of competing at the country championships.
