Poppy was taken from her hutch in the yard of the childcare centre on January 18.
Police have spoken to two female Horsham teenagers, aged 18 and 16, about the incident.
Horsham Sergeant Julie Bergen said the teenagers allegedly took the rabbit to keep as a pet.
She said the teenagers lived in a residential care unit.
Sergeant Bergen said their Department of Human Services worker realised the rabbit was Poppy and called the childcare centre after seeing posts on Facebook about the missing bunny.
Centre director Melanie Roberts said the centre was contacted by the department worker on Monday night.
She said staff collected Poppy that same night.
Miss Roberts said everyone at the centre was happy to have Poppy back.
‘‘No harm came to her which is the main thing, she was well looked after,’’ she said.
The childcare centre had previously received anonymous letters suggesting staff should take better care of the rabbit.
Police do not believe the two incidents are related.
