Blakely appears on the front cover of The Wimmera Mail-Times, The Stawell Times-News and The Ararat Advertiser’s Our Babies of 2014 inside editions published this week.
Blakely’s mother Lauren Wiggins said she and husband Greg could not get enough of being parents to their bouncing baby boy, now nine months.
‘‘It has been a very new experience for both of us but it’s awesome – we love being parents,’’ she said.
Blakely was born at 1am on April 19 last year at Horsham’s Wimmera Base Hospital, weighing in at 3230 grams.
Mrs Wiggins said Blakely had become a vibrant child in the past nine months.
‘‘He loves to laugh and smile,’’ she said.
‘‘He has beautiful blue eyes.’’
Mrs Wiggins said as with any new baby there were a few sleepless nights.
‘‘He’s not the greatest sleeper, but I’m getting used to that now,’’ she said.
‘‘He’s been a good little bub.’’
Blakely is the Wiggins’ first child.
He is the first grandchild on Mrs Wiggins’ side of the family and the seventh on Mr Wiggins’ side.
Mrs Wiggins said her parents were enjoying the new addition to the family.
Along with being the Wimmera’s cover baby for the year, Blakely has also won a $250 Amcal voucher and a photo shoot with Cheeky Monkey Photography.
Duncan Richard Newberry, born on July 10, was the runner-up.
He has won a $150 Just Juniors voucher.
