Playgroup co-ordinator Sue Exell said the group was formed in 2010.
She said the Haven playgroup was set up by Horsham Rural City Council after the Black Saturday bushfires.
‘‘But now we have run out of funding so we have taken steps to be self-supported,’’ she said.
Mrs Exell said the group had registered with Playgroup Australia and would have a different fee structure.
She said this also meant the the group’s name had changed, from Haven Community Playgroup to Haven Bush Playgroup.
‘‘Under the new structure everybody who comes to playgroup will pay $35 to Playgroup Victoria for insurance, which covers 12 months,’’ she said.
Mrs Exell said additionally parents would need to bring $3 each session, which would go towards hiring the hall and a plate of food to share.
She said it was important to keep playgroups such as Haven’s running.
‘‘Mums coming out of mothers groups might be looking for things to do,’’ she said.
‘‘We are a bush playgroup. We go on little walks in the reserve and wetlands and go for picnics.’’
Mrs Exell said the group had a range of items including toys, books and bikes.
She said it was always looking for new members.
Mrs Exell said Haven Bush Playgroup met on Tuesdays from 10.30am until noon.
She said people could call her on 0409 257 256 or visit the Haven Bush Playgroup Facebook group for more information.
