POLICE responded to two car crashes in Stawell on Thursday due to drivers failing to give way.

Stawell Sergeant Peter Young said a semi-trailer was travelling along Griffith Street at lunchtime.
He said a car failed to give way at the intersection of Smith Street and Griffith Street and drove into the truck.
Sgt Young said the truck had minor damage and the car was written off.
Paramedics took the car driver, a man in his 60s, to Stawell District Hospital with minor injuries.
The truck driver, a Stawell man, 24, was not injured.
Sgt Young said Stawell Fire Brigade attended the scene to clean up a significant amount of oil on Griffith Street.
Another incident in Houston Street occurred about 7pm.
Sgt Young said a female, 19, was driving on Houston Street when a taxi driver failed to give way at the intersection of Houston and Ligar Street.
He said both cars had moderate damage.
The taxi driver, a Stawell woman, 61, was taken by ambulance to Stawell District Hospital for minor injuries.
Sgt Young said the man in his 60s and the taxi driver received penalty notices.
He said two similar incidents in one day was concerning.
Sgt Young urged people to be vigilant while on the road.
"Be aware of signs and take care when going through give way signs," he said.
