The body was found on Thursday.
Detectives believe it could be Mount Gambier man Gordon Hamm, 34.
The body will now be subject to forensic examination.
Mr Hamm was reported missing in July 2013.
Three men from Mt Gambier, 21, 29 and 35 were charged in relation to his murder shortly after.
