Creek’s Adelaide 36ers were eliminated from the finals after two straight losses to the New Zealand Breakers in their semi-final series on Thursday and Saturday.
The Breakers demolished the 36ers on Thursday, winning 111-82.
Creek kept the Sixers in the match early with eight first-quarter points, including a thunderous dunk in transition to open Adelaide’s account for the night.
Unfortunately his team-mates struggled to follow his lead and the Breakers ran over the top of them in the second and third quarters.
Creek finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.
Adelaide had a more competitive outing against New Zealand at home on Saturday but the result was the same.
A fourth-quarter fightback from the 36ers was not enough to prevent a 94-83 loss.
Creek scored seven points in the loss.
He took to social media after the game to express his disappointment and determination to win an elusive NBL championship.
‘‘Tonight hurts more than words can describe,’’ he wrote.
‘‘We will get better, regroup, progress, and we won’t stop until we win that championship.
‘‘Thank you so much to all you beautiful fans, supporters and even hecklers.
‘‘It’s been a pleasure.’’
There was better news for Bruce and the Cairns Taipans, who won the opening game of their series against the Perth Wildcats on Friday night.
Bruce scored two points in five minutes off the bench in the 71-64 win.
Game two of the series was played last night.
A win would have put the Taipans in the grand final series against New Zealand, while a loss would mean they play a cut-throat game three against the Wildcats.
