MY KITCHEN Rules winner Bree May brought home-style cooking to the menu on Tuesday.

May is a special guest at this year's Wimmera Machinery Field Days.

Her cooking demonstrations include rabbit and duck, with rabbit risotto her first dish on Tuesday morning.

May said she enjoyed cooking for other people.

"The demonstrations are lots of fun and it's something I love doing," she said.

"I was a bit nervous and scared I was going to overcook something, but all went to plan.

"I wanted to cook the sort of food I love to serve to my family. 

"It is home-style cooking, but it is a little bit different, such as a new way to do a Sunday lamb roast.

"It is very international because I am a lover of all cuisine."

Horsham Safeway donated the food for May's demonstration and she used cookware from exhibitor The Chef's Toolbox.

She also used oil from Toscana Olives.

"Everyone has been so amazing, it's been like a little community out here at the field days," she said. 

May's husband Corey and their two daughters Eden and Winter watched her performance on Tuesday.

"It really means a lot to me to have them here," she said.

"They will be here throughout the week.

"Corey is from Horsham and his family still live on a farm out of town.

"We spent a day at the farm before the field days and it was great to see the kids run around out there.

"I am a city slicker but I have a country heart."

May said her demonstrations were perfect for both men and women. 

''I wanted to show people easy ways to do things from scratch and demonstrate beautiful, simple food that anyone can cook,'' she said.

''I am a home cook, not a qualified chef, so I hope my food inspired people to do something a bit different.''

May said she was looking forward to her final demonstrations on Thursday. 

"I've had a ball so far and I hope people like the rest of my dishes," she said.
