A 15-year-old girl was allegedly grabbed inappropriately several times by a young man before she managed to push him away on Sunday, February 22.

The teenager was walking along a makeshift footpath on the southern bank of the Kananook Creek, near the boat hire dock, when the incident allegedly took place at 3:35pm.

The young man is said to have approached the girl and attempted to strike up a conversation, but the teenager found him hard to understand because of his accent.

The man is believed to have run north along the creek bank after the incident.

Police have issued a description of the man as aged in his late teens or early 20s, of Indian or sub-continental appearance, between 165 centimetres and 170cm tall, with brown hair, a thin build and stubble on his chin.
