The Saints’ top and middle order completely collapsed and will need a big effort from captain Tony Caccaviello and Zac Hamerston to dig themselves out of the hole they are in.
Caccaviello conceded the team was in a tough position and said the side had a lot of young players at the weekend.
‘‘It was tough but the good thing is they’ll learn from the tough experiences like that,’’ he said.
Noradjuha-Toolondo captain Matt Combe said the side’s focus was solely on winning the game.
He said an outright win was a possibility but that if the team got too far ahead of themselves they could release the pressure they had built on the Saints.
If the Saints are to avoid a first innings loss, they will need to score more than Noradjuha-Toolondo’s total of 123 runs, but with just two wickets in hand that might not be possible.
Homers will look to build on their strong position against Jung Tigers as they hope to move up the ladder before the semi-finals.
An outright win is not out of the question as Jung was bowled out for 124, with Homers already at 3-139 from 27 overs.
With a first innings win already secured, Homers have nothing to lose by trying to pile on the runs, before trying to bowl Jung out for a second time.
Jung and Laharum are tied, although Jung has the superior percentage to split the difference.
Laharum is in a tough position against ladder leaders Rup-Minyip, after being bowled out for 135.
Rup-Minyip is 3-110 and is poised to go on to make a big score, which will effectively seal Laharum’s fate as recipients of the wooden spoon.
