Ms Lehmann was one of five Victorian women who attended Parliament House as an award finalist last week.
She was nominated for her Granny Skills project, which shares valuable skills such as baking to ensure younger generations learn about them.
Agriculture Minister Jaala Pulford announced Harcourt orchardist Katie Finlay as the winner at the gathering on Thursday last week.
Ms Lehmann said despite missing out on the major prize, which included a $10,000 financial bursary to implement the project, she had a great day.
‘‘It was such a great experience,’’ she said.
‘‘There were four other very worthy finalists, as well.’’
Along with Ms Pulford, several other parliamentarians attended the awards.
Ms Lehmann said Member for Lowan Emma Kealy was at the presentation.
‘‘She was very supportive,’’ she said.
Ms Lehmann said she intended to continue growing the Granny Skills program.
She also has a number of other projects under way.
One project includes encouraging and helping other regional women to apply for awards such as the Rural Women’s Award.
‘‘There is great talent in this region,’’ Ms Lehmann said.
‘‘I’d like to encourage other women to do this in the future. It’s a great experience and great for networking.’’
