Murtoa's Our Lady Help Of Christians Primary School hosted the sports, which included Murtoa College junior campus, Rupanyup Primary School and Minyip Primary School.
Our Lady Help of Christians principal Veronica Slattery said the sports day was a success.
"We almost cancelled it at lunch time because there was a heavy downpour, but we forged ahead,'' she said.
"Everyone was very happy with how the school sports went.''
Mrs Slattery said Winston Wood presented a medal for the 800-metre race in memory of Marg Wood, a former teacher.
She said Gayle Daggett-Emmett presented a Ken Daggett Memorial Shield to the winning school.
The shield was named after Gayle's father, who was a parent at Rupanyup school and a strong supporter of the sports.
Mrs Slattery said next year another school would host the event.
"It was a very successful day despite the weather,'' she said.
