The centre will offer general practice, allied health services and a day service.
It was originally expected to open more than a year ago.
West Wimmera Health Service chief executive John Smith told the Mail-Times last week the centre’s opening was delayed partly because of accreditation issues.
The centre is named after Peter Sudholz, who cut the ribbon on Friday.
Member for Mallee Andrew Broad opened the centre, which was built with a $500,000 grant from the previous government.
‘‘I’m honoured to be opening this centre, which will play a vital role in the Natimuk community,’’ he said.
‘‘Without quality health care, regional areas face significant challenges, so I’m very pleased to see such a wonderful investment in the health and well-being of Natimuk.
‘‘The centre will concentrate on providing primary and preventative health care, both of which are important in obtaining the best long-term outcomes for the people in our communities.
‘‘I applaud all the people who have worked very hard to see this project come to life.’’
