Brendon Ellis and his crew took to the water in Ellis's new boat Stryker, catching a number of gummy shark.
Fellow members Ron Baker and Don Schultz fished from Baker's boat, Tuna One.
They had no luck hauling in any flathead off Cape Bridgewater, but the boat eventually lived up to its name as the pair hooked four tuna and managed to reel in two.
Baker said tuna between 60 and 140 kilograms were caught off the coast.
"Matthew Hunt and crew fought a 140-kilogram tuna for two hours only to lose it when the rod broke in half," he said.
Baker said everyone was trying to take advantage of the abundant tuna.
"It won't be long before they move on, so everyone's trying to get out and have a crack at it now," he said.
"It looks like we picked a good week because it's meant to be really windy this week.
"You're a long way out already so you don't want to be out there when it's windy."
