Basically, they are having a 21st birthday party.
Past players, club members and family of those involved throughout the journey will join in the festivities on Saturday and Sunday.
The club expects stories to start flowing as old friends rekindle lost and treasured memories.
But the party will not truly start until the aftermath of Saturday's round seven clash with Ararat.
In a battle of third versus fourth, there is plenty on the line for both clubs as Minyip-Murtoa looks to harness the weekend’s celebrations as motivation.
Coach Jaye Macumber said it was a privilege for the players to pull on the guernsey for such a special occasion.
‘‘We’re going to get a couple of past players to come in at the start of the game to explain what it means to wear the Burras jumper,’’ he said.
‘‘Hopefully the boys can represent themselves well. We are making sure we are preparing well.’’
Macumber said he was placing some added pressure on himself given the magnitude of the occasion.
‘‘I feel more pressure internally from myself. I really want to make sure we go out and put on a good show for the blokes who have gone before us and put in the hard yards,’’ he said.
A win would ensure the Burras players can enjoy the rest of the weekend’s celebrations.
Club secretary Tony Baker said about 200 people were expected at Saturday night’s official function.
‘‘The game is the first priority and all the people returning will be able to watch the sporting events. That will be the main thing,’’ he said.
‘‘We’ll have a dinner and there will be speeches and a cutting of a cake.
‘‘It will be a bit like a 21st birthday party.’’
The club will display photos and premiership memorabilia.
There will be an indoor and outdoor area at the Minyip Reserve with live music from 9pm.
There will be a breakfast on Sunday morning to close the celebrations.
Mr Baker expects strong performances from the club’s teams in light of the celebrations.
He said people could call Peter Taylor on 0429986721 for more information.
