Miga Lake farmer and adjoining landowner Mark Hancock will buy the hall from council.
He will then pass on the proceeds to the Miga Lake fire brigade.
Mr Hancock said he planned to preserve the hall.
"We have maintained and looked after it for a while now," he said.
The Miga Lake Hall was built in the 1920s as a soldiers hall.
Mr Hancock said the hall had not been used in recent years because the fire brigade had a new shed.
"The hall joins our property, so we would like to see it preserved," he said.
Cr Ron Hawkins said he was satisfied with the process to sell the hall.
"We have been through a process, from our initial report from the consultants, meeting with the local community and now we have come to a conclusion," he said.
"I think it has been a transparent and good operation with the community at Miga Lake."
Last year council resolved to adopt a consultant's recommendation to dispose of some council-owned halls, including Miga Lake Hall.
In September last year council had a meeting with the Miga Lake Hall Committee and community.
In December council resolved to sell the hall and donate the proceeds to the Miga Lake fire brigade.
West Wimmera Mayor Annette Jones said it was a good process with a positive outcome.
"Council will liaise with the Miga Lake community to erect a suitable plaque detailing the history and background of the hall, recognising the historical significance of the site," she said.
