Last time they met: Round 15, 2014. Horsham Saints 17.16 (118) Dimboola 13.10 (88).
DIMBOOLA coach Stuart Farr believes the Roos must focus for 100 per cent of their contest on Saturday if they are any chance of knocking off Horsham Saints.
The Roos will hope to inflict the Saints’ first loss of the season, and Farr said Saturday's match would provide a good gauge for the club.
‘‘They’ve been winning by 100 points against just about everyone,’’ he said.
‘‘It’s a really tough challenge and a good opportunity to see where we’re at.
‘‘We’ll need to play four quarters of football to beat them. If we play three and a half against them we’ll probably lose by 10 to 15 goals.’’
Farr said the interleague bye proved handy for a couple of players carrying niggling injuries.
Torin Petrie sustained a concussion against Ararat in round five and has recovered well, but Farr said Petrie would not be risked if he was not 100 per cent.
Saints’ coach Shayne Breuer mirrored Farr’s sentiments about the bye, and said if his side was competitive, it would give itself an opportunity to win.
‘‘We’ve got to make sure we come out ready to play,’’ he said.
‘‘It’s a matter of matching it with them and if we can do that we know we’re a chance.’’
There are a handful of Saints who could potentially miss Saturday's clash due to injury.
But Breuer said whoever did play would need to be ready for a tough contest.
‘‘The Saints always have a really good contest with Dimmy,’’ he said.
‘‘They’re always a tough opponent. They’re hard at the contest, and that’s the way they like to play.’’
