The Panthers have started their training regime ahead of what will be the team's second year in the competition.
The 2015-16 season starts in September.
Panthers president Sean McMaughan said the team hoped to attract some new talent.
He said it was an exciting time to get involved with rugby league.
"We're starting a bit of pre-season training and we want to do some recruiting and fundraising," he said.
The side will run a raffle, with the top prize a team-signed guernsey donated by Melbourne Storm and NRL Victoria.
McMaughan said personal trainer Lateesha Gascoyne was helping put the players through their paces.
"We're just trying to get our fitness up again and as we get closer we'll focus more on game skills," he said.
The competition is split with games played between September and November before a break over December and January.
Play resumes in late January with the grand final on before country football's 2016 season gets underway.
McMaughan hopes excitement surrounding the close of the NRL season will draw potential players to the Panthers.
He said the rugby season also served as a handy preparation for footballers wishing to gain some extra pre-season training.
"If you can take the hits in rugby league then you'll have no problem in Australian football," McMaughan said.
"So some might like to use rugby as a good preparation for the footy season."
The Panthers train on Wednesday nights at Horsham's May Park at 6.30pm and again on Sundays at 2.30pm at Sunnyside in Horsham.
