Eight brigades received $15,670 in the awards this year.
Dimboola Fire Brigade received $1000 to purchase a new Waeco fridge.
Brigade's Lyndon Kuhne said the fridge would be installed on a tanker and would provide drinking water for the crew.
"It will help keep things cool on those hot days," he said.
"Anything that we can do to help our volunteers out is fantastic."
Competition firefighting also received money, with the District 17 Championship Committee receiving $3500 to purchase new safety mats.
Committee president David Hornsby said the mats would be used in ladder events.
"People have to climb up ladders and hopefully they don't slip and fall, but if they do, we will have new safety mats to catch them," he said.
"It costs $6000 for a mat, so the grant covers half and we will pay the other half.
"If it wasn't for this grant we wouldn't be able to afford new mats for a number of years."
Volunteer Fire Brigade Victoria president Ron Zanker said it was great to see so many Wimmera fire brigades receive money.
"It's a great thing Horsham Sports and Community Club do - all the clubs that have received money are volunteers and the fire brigades are run entirely by volunteers.
"These awards will only benefit the communities and help groups that are struggling."
Mr Zanker said a lot of the grants for fire brigades would be used to purchase new tankers or equipment.
"It's all about the health and safety of our volunteers," he said.
Overall, Horsham Sports and Community Club gave $112,000 to 89 groups this year.
Club director Gary Howden said since 1997, they had give away more than $1.5 million.
"It's all about putting back into the community," he said.
Horsham 2nd Scouts received $1046 to buy new tents and a gazebo.
Scout David Roberts said the group went camping last weekend and it was freezing become the tents they had did not close.
He said the group were excited to get new tents.
"We are looking forward to more trips now," he said.
