A giant inflatable koala was stolen from the roof of Harvey Norman in Horsham early Sunday morning.
Horsham First Constable Mal Wineberg said offenders used a makeshift ladder to get to the roof and untied the koala about 1am.
He said police found the koala hours later 200 metres away near a tree.
It was deflated but not damaged.
First Const Wineberg urged anyone with information to call Horsham police.
The koala is back home on the roof of the store.
