The Cup competition pits sides from four regions against one other, with South West and Hampden teams also taking part.
The Hamilton and Warrnambool sides also go head-to-head on Wednesday ahead of the Wimmera-Ballarat clash.
The four sides will return to Ararat’s Alexandra Oval next week to determine who will represent the North Ballarat Rebels in the V/Line Cup in Gippsland in September and October.
Two 24-strong sides will be selected from the Wimmera, Ballarat, South West and Hampden sides based on performances in the McDonalds Cup.
Warrack Eagle Jae McGrath is the side’s coach.
