Sarah Laurie and Chris Van Buuren were the winners of the Commit to be Fit competition open to Wimmera Mail-Times readers earlier this year.
Mrs Laurie and Mr Van Buuren won 12 weeks of training sessions with Forward Fitness Personal Training’s Brad Wade and a nutrition consultation and plan with naturopath Kerri Nichols.
The pair meet with Mr Wade three times a week.
They are in their fourth week of training.
Mr Wade said both Mrs Laurie and Mr Van Buuren were doing well.
"They're very enthusiastic,” he said.
"As they keep achieving their goals we'll keep adding more.”
Mrs Laurie said after doing personal training in the past, she knew this was something which would help her achieve her fitness goals.
"This is something for myself," she said.
She said the personal training suited her as her two young daughters could join her during the training sessions.
“Brad involves them sometimes so it’s been great,” she said.
This is the first time Mr Van Buuren has tried personal training.
He said he hoped to achieve fitness and weight loss over the time spend with Mr Wade.
“Brad’s very motivational,” he said.
Mr Wade said personal training was a great way for people to kick-start their weight loss and fitness goals.
"It's about having an appointment and then you can't make excuses because you have to meet someone,” he said.
He said he tried to make his program fun.
"If you don't have fun you're not likely to commit," he said.
Forward Fitness is open seven days a week from 6am to 8pm.
