The Saints will go into the match as strong favourites, and if they win and Stawell can outlast Nhill, the Warriors' superior percentage will see them leap above the Roos.
Dimboola coach Stuart Farr said his side showed promising signs in its 30-point, round-10 defeat against Minyip-Murtoa, but urged the Roos to give him more.
"It's the same old story," he said.
"It's about time we stopped being happy with competing with those good sides.
"We've got to start winning games of footy. We've got to start stringing four quarters together."
The Roos will be without Nigel Sibson, who will have an extended stint on the sidelines with a quad injury.
Captain Tom Magee is also unavailable for Saturday's clash.
"We're testing our depth but it's a good opportunity for some other guys to come up," Farr said.
"The challenge for us is to maintain that good footy for a whole game.
"We're running out of time to put things together."
Saints coach Shayne Breuer said he expected a tight contest.
"We always have a good hit-out with Dimboola," he said.
"They've got their backs up against the wall a bit and they'll come out with intent and we'll have to match them in that area."
Wet conditions look set to make the match a slog, but Breuer said despite the grim outlook, the match would be won based on consistency.
"We've spoken about it a lot and it's about getting that four quarters of effort," he said.
"The Roos have always been hard at the footy and their competitiveness is really good.
"We need to focus on what we can do well but also recognise what they do well and try to stop that."
