The two sides fought out a thrilling top-of-the-table-clash earlier in the season, with the Saints prevailing by 20 points.
But as the top two sides met again at Lord Nelson Park at St Arnaud, it was the Royal Blues who proved too strong on Saturday, winning 14.11 (95) to 5.10 (40).
Donald did what most sides this year have struggled to do, quelling the Saints’ ability to score heavily.
St Arnaud had just one goal to its name by the main break as the Royal Blues slammed home six to lead by 31 points.
Donald hung tough again to win the third term despite a lift by the Saints, with the 38-point, three-quarter-time margin proving too large to reel in.
Seamus Young booted four goals for the Royal Blues as Glen Wyatt, Brody Haddow and Josh Reichman chimed in with two-apiece.
For the Saints, five players booted singles as Nick Baldwin and Caleb Bloomer were the standout performers.
St Arnaud remains atop the table in the league, but has had is advantage cut to one game.
Donald remains second.
In other matches, Boort trailed by just 24 points at half-time against Charlton, but was blown away in the second half to go down by 102 points.
Wycheproof-Narraport shocked Wedderburn with a 96-point belting.
