Both the Burras and the Demons were on even footing for much of the game, with Minyip-Murtoa leading the charge at the long break.
However, coach Jaye Macumber said the guys had a lapse in concentration in the third quarter and deviated from the side’s game plan, which was to be accountable throughout the ground.
“In that 15 minutes, Horsham Demons dominated play and that was the difference in the end,” he said.
Demons coach Nick Pekin said the game was always going to be a close match.
“Last time we met, it was a physical game and we had to keep our pressure up for all four quarters,” he said.
“This time we held our own for three quarters but unfortunately we didn’t play to the best of our ability.
“Our disposals need work, but to get away with a win was great.”
Pekin said Beau Nelson played one of his best games for the year. “Nathan Kelly was also good in the backline,” he said.
Macumber said Kade Petering was outstanding all day for the Burras.
“He played a great four quarters of football and both defensively and offensively he was fantastic,” he said.
“Blake Young was also great.”
