Horsham police will team up with the Australian sporting health organisation Good Sports to host a liquor licensing sporting clubs seminar at the Horsham Sports and Community Club.
Horsham Acting Inspector Brendan Broadbent, Sergeant Mick Salter and Good Sports representative Ian Fechner will be the presenters at the seminar.
Sgt Salter said the event would cover a range of topics including responsible service of alcohol training, duty of care, server liability and under-age issues.
He said it was important for sports clubs to come to the seminars each year as liquor licensing laws changed annually.
“The clubs would understand how much a liquor licence makes a club,” he said.
Sgt Salter said there would also be a question and answer section of the evening.
He encouraged all sport clubs in the region to make the time to attend the session.
“Either come see us at the forum or you’ll see me at your club,” he said.
Sgt Salter said entry was $20 for each club, which included a club seminar workbook.
He said clubs could bring along multiple members.
Sgt Salter said the Good Sports liquor licensing sporting clubs seminar would be at the Horsham Sports and Community Club from 7pm to 9.30pm.
