The retirement village hosted the afternoon tea as a fundraiser for Rachael’s Wish.
The appeal will help fund the Wimmera Cancer Centre in Horsham.
Horsham Gardens manager Dominic Clancy said about 35 people attended the event and raised $584.30.
Mr Clancy said the village’s social club was happy to host an event for such a worthy cause.
“Everyone in the community has been affected by cancer in some way, shape or form,” he said.
“Everyone has known someone who has had cancer, or has it themselves.”
Mr Clancy said the social club wanted to do its part for the community asset.
“It’s great we’re going to have the cancer centre in Horsham – it will be great for people in the region,” he said.
“Thank you to the community for their generosity so far for the fundraising appeal.
“It’s been a great community response.”
