However, the decision should not affect the Lakers’ finals campaign.
Roberts faced the tribunal on Wednesday night.
The lengthy meeting continued until after midnight before the final verdict was decided.
Roberts was charged with striking Jeparit-Rainbow’s Chris Meyer in Sunday’s elimination final.
The report was made by the goal umpire after a scuffle broke out on the Lakers’ forward pocket.
Due to Roberts’ previously unblemished record, he received a reprimand and will be free to play against Kalkee in the weekend’s semi-final.
Roberts’ hearing was suspended for an hour late on Wednesday night after the tribunal requested a video of the incident be presented.
The Lakers had provided photographs of what was thought to be the incident, but after some confusion it was decided a video would be better.
Although Roberts pleaded not guilty, the hearing did not progress very far before it was suspended.
The report was made by a goal umpire, who informed Roberts at half-time of the match, along with one of the field umpires.
Taylors Lake initially had some questions about the procedure of the report but these were dismissed by the tribunal.
