HORSHAM Saints’ six-point win against Horsham on Saturday ensured them a grand final berth but Saints coach Shayne Breuer told his players after the semi-final win they had achieved nothing by merely qualifying for the big dance.

The Saints led from start to finish at Davis Park on Saturday and hung on for a thrilling triumph to condemn the Demons to a preliminary final against either Minyip-Murtoa or Stawell.
Breuer said his side had finished second-fiddle too many times and his players could not be content with their achievements so far this year.
“This club has been there too many times so for people to be happy to have made the grand final, they’re kidding themselves,” he said.
“We’re a long way off from what we set out to achieve so we’ve just got to do everything we possibly can for two weeks to prepare and get everyone up and hopefully we’ll have a full fit side.”
The week off comes at a good time for the Saints, who had a handful of sore soldiers post-match.
Sam Jasper and Andrew Devereaux both had their ankles on ice after the game and Sam Clyne suffered a concussion earlier in the match.
Key forward Jacob Cooke-Harrison did not take his place in the side on Saturday, and has two weeks now to be right for the grand final.
“There are a few sore boys on the sidelines so the break will help but as I’ve said, there’s never any perfect preparation,” Breuer said.
The Saints have now won all four of their clashes with the Demons this year.
