The two sides have been impossible to separate all season and this time it was the Kees who stormed home for the win.
The final score saw Kalkee 10.11 (71) defeat Harrow-Balmoral 10.8 (68).
At the last break the Roos held a three point lead which they were unable to keep intact.
When the game was on the line Nicholas Jasper was impressive, kicking two last quarter goals to give the Kees the lead.
The first was a set shot from 35 metres, the second a quick kick in the goal square as he was tackled by his opponent.
The Kees’ forward pocket outworked and harassed his opponents in the final term.
Along with these two goals Jamie Nield also scored for the Kees and it gave them their match-high 15 point lead.
The Roos didn’t let the game get away from them though and they ensure it was a thrilling finish.
They found another goal deep into the quarter, then Van Someren once again got loose and kicked truly to reduce the margin to three points.
However with the siren sounding only moments later, the game was over and they were out of time.
For Van Someren there was some consolation as he was awarded best on ground for his efforts.
This included playing through a suspected broken toe.
The Roos will be ruing their missed chances earlier in the game and the 21 point lead they held at half-time.
They were no match for the Kees after the main break and were simply run off their feet.
Despite the backline working overtime to prevent goals they couldn’t quite find their forwards as Kees players picked up easy possessions behind the footy.
